Biography

CLÉLIA PARREIRA

Sometimes life takes us in different directions from the ones we initially designed.

Lisbon, Portugal- based designer, with many years working in Advertising, Clélia Parreira redesigns her career path in the world of Contemporary Jewellery.

In 2015, Clélia began her studies in the area by the school, “Centro de Joalharia de Lisboa”, where she later completed her course in Author Jewellery.

At the end of 2017 Clélia obtained her goldsmiths license from Lisbon Coin House Assay Office and decided, since then, to launch her own brand as a way of personal expression, in a completely new creative area.

With a deep inspiration in nature and art, she uses the physical and artistic universe as a canvas for her creations, reflecting a strong sense of emotion, imagination and artistic energy that she draws from everyday experiences. Her pieces are born of traditional and artisan techniques, yet they demonstrate an understanding and connection between the “noble” and traditional metals with a range of various materials, thus giving a greater diversity of expression and dimension to her collections.

Her work is based on the transparency of the “I” as a Being. It understands the jewel as a revealing element of the personality of the wearer, and intends, not only to mirror the history and passion employed in the jewel, but also, through its observation, it allows to make known the person who bears it, an extension of the occupied body.

To Clélia, “jewellery is more than a decorative ornament, is categorically an art form.”
