1st Edition of the New Design Arts & Crafts Biennial
September 20 to 25, 2022
Organized by SPIRA and curated by @passaaofuturo, the 1st edition of the Bienal Artes & Ofícios Novo Design was dedicated to all professionals in the sector and the general public. It opened its doors on the 20th of September in Oeiras and featured an International Conference; an exhibition of active artisans, designers and makers; several thematic Masterclasses promoted by @portugal_manual; Creative workshops; heritage education programs; an exhibition of Short Films and an extended program of Open Days across the country.
The respective Exhibition began on the 22nd of September, in which I had the pleasure of participating, and took place at the Municipal Market of Oeiras. There were moments of exchange, sharing, learning and conviviality. I brought with me a little of everything, and of everyone who went there to meet, congratulate, and see what we can do with our hands, but I also left a little of myself. I thank all the organization and volunteers for the way they welcomed us and treated us. To my colleagues, of all ages and locations, how nice it was to meet you, I learned a little from everyone!
